Overview
Hooty is a read-only, non-custodial portfolio tracker. We try to collect as little as possible and we never ask for your private keys or seed phrase. This page explains what is collected, why, how long it is kept, and how to exercise your rights.
What we collect
- Public wallet addresses you add to track. These are public on-chain identifiers; on-chain balances and activity are public by nature.
- Wallet connection: when you sign in, we receive a signed message proving you control an address. We never receive your private keys, seed phrase, or the ability to move your assets.
- Account data: your signed-in address, your plan/tier status, and the transaction hashes of on-chain payments used to unlock paid access.
- Optional data you provide: a Telegram handle / chat identifier if you enable alerts; the contents of any feedback you send and an optional contact you choose to include; and any off-chain holdings you add manually.
- Technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address, browser/user-agent and timestamps) and local browser storage used to remember your preferences. We keep any analytics minimal.
Why we use it
- To aggregate and display the portfolio for the addresses you track.
- To sign you in, remember your settings, and gate paid features.
- To send the alerts you opt into (e.g. via Telegram).
- To answer feedback and provide support.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and improve it.
Who it is shared with
To fetch balances, prices and activity, the public addresses you track are sent to third-party blockchain nodes, indexers and price providers. If you enable Telegram alerts, messages are delivered through Telegram. We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for third-party advertising. We may disclose information where required by law.
How long we keep it
- Account data (tracked addresses, tier, payment hashes, alert settings) is kept while your account exists.
- If you delete a wallet or your account, the associated records are removed.
- Technical logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized.
- Preferences stored in your browser stay until you clear them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app:
- Remove any tracked wallet at any time.
- Unlink Telegram to stop alert processing.
- Use anonymous mode without signing in.
For anything else — including account deletion or a data request — use the in-app feedback option in Settings.
Cookies and local storage
We use a secure, http-only cookie to keep you signed in, and browser local storage to remember preferences (such as your chosen layout and tracked addresses in anonymous mode). We don't use cookies for cross-site advertising.
Children
Hooty is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under the age required to consent in their jurisdiction.
Changes
We may update this policy; the current version is always shown here with its "Last updated" date. Material changes take effect when posted.
